Made in Steel 2023, the benchmark event of the steel sector in Italy, opened today.
The biennial appointment at the Milan Trade Fair connects the main players of the supply chain from producers, to logistics, to services. A successful supply chain as Antonio Gozzi, president of Federacciai and chairman of Duferco Group, said in his speech. “The Italian steel industry is definitely a champion in sustainability and circular economy in Europe,” Gozzi mentioned, “with more than 80 percent of production from electric furnaces, it is now a key player in decarbonization. However, this is a primacy to be defended by identifying and pursuing new goals.” This process, in which innovation is the essential component, is associated with the challenging task of generational changeover, which, as the chairman remarked, “can only work if it is linked to the founding values that have shaped the sector so far, such as flexibility, sustainability and the sharing of experiences and skills.” Duferco Group is exhibiting at Made in Steel with a booth and direct participation in the conferences.
